The School of Physics at UNSW is one of the leading Physics departments in Australia. We have a strong research culture, with a third of our academic staff recieving research fellowships. Staff in the School are conducting cutting edge research in Astrophysics, Condensed Matter Physics, Theoretical Physics, Acoustics and Biophysics. The School also hosts the ARC Centre for Excellence for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology.
We are committed to providing stimulating teaching to the many students who study Physics here at UNSW. We are leading the way in developing innovative online teaching. We are investing in modern classrooms and student laboratories and many of our staff have received teaching awards.

Undergraduate students can study Physics through the Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Advanced Science, or one of the many dual degrees offered at UNSW. We have over fifty postgraduate students undertaking research in all areas of the School. Our graduates are highly employable and follow a wide variety of careers in Physics research, industry and education.
