Grant applications and proposals for telescope time share
many aspects in common. Members of time allocation
committees and grant application reviewers see many of the
same mistakes over and over again, and these can significantly
effect your chances of getting access to the resources
you need to do science.
As a past member of ATAC (the committee awarding Australian
time on the Anglo-Australian Telescope), and the current Chair of
the Physics, Chemistry and Geosciences panel of the ARC's
College of Experts, I'd like to take this opportunity to help
astronomers and physicists eliminate some of these problems, so as
to give your science the best possible chance of shining through.
