Tardis Sessions

I've been listening to the 3D TV cd today and I'm really enjoying it. It's really cool that you've been able to blend 60s garage so well with the 80s shoegazing and neo psych stuff. Spacemen 3, Teardrop Explodes, Jesus and Mary Chain, MBV, Spiritualized, Ride etc are all bands I'm really into, but their influence never came out in the stuff we're doing. I can hear these bands mixed with bands from the Pebbles and Nuggets?series in 3D TV's stuff. It's really cool.

"3D TV is an Australian band that combines garage psychedelia, sleazy rock'n'roll, sound effects from outer space, early Spacemen 3 styled hypnotic, distorted and monotonous stuff and this and that in an interesting way. This, their first demo, was made by two guys and a machine, but nowadays they have bit more human rhythm section. For a demo, this release is rather long, since there are as many as nine songs and the whole length is over 40 minutes. No demo that includes 3D specs can't be all bad, and nor is this one. There's enough fuzz to give to others, at times the vocals are even a bit too snotty is a funny way. The almost eight minutes long "My Baby Left Me (In a UFO)" rocks in a punky style reminding me of the Ramones a bit. The end of the track sounds exactly like a spacecraft... Sometimes they go in the Velvet Underground moods, "Demons Are A Ghoul's Best Friend" on the other hand is pure horror garage. The best thing this release has to offer in my opinion is the pounding, very psychedelic, suitably named killer track "Spaced". This over nine minutes long monotonic and heavy jam gets for sure all the fans of Loop and early Spacemen 3 to jump wildly on the table. If the band would concentrate on this kind of stuff, it would be more in my musical vein, but those funny garage rock tracks are pretty listenable, as well. This is an interesting new band for sure."

Brian says...

"I enjoyed your CD a lot. I wasn't expecting it to be so f*cked up (in a good way) - some really choice nasty sounds. An expert collision of science and rock! (You can print that on a sticker for the next batch). Some awesome wig-outs. I like that UFO song."

3D TV will wake up the sleepyheads with their distorted fuzztone and pounding beats.

"3D T.V. is f*cking excellent, seems "Shake Yer Body" a.k.a "You Don't Know" is the exact same arrangement, that's funny, but what the hell happened to "Spaced".. it's gone thru some transformation I hear, it's f*cking amazing, makes me wanna chop my head off.. total Spacemen, Mary Chain but better."
Stefan Ganslandt, Swedish Muso and founder of the legendary Transformed Men, Oct' 2005
