Penguins
On the way South, the ship spent a week moored on the ice pack for some repairs. A group of Adelie penguins came across the pack to look at that strange thing: the ship! This is a sequence of pictures was taken from the ship's side

On 1989, Reinhold Messner, the most famous mountaneer of every time, and Arved Fuchs, nephew of the Antarctic explorer Vivian Fuchs, succeded in crossing the Antarctic Continent, for the first time, with no external support. A journey of 2,800 km and 92 days from Queen Maud Land to McMurdo Sound
