Lucyna Kedziora-Chudczer
Welcome to my WWW page!
I am an astronomer based at the School of Physics at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
I am a member of the Australian Centre for Astrobiology group,
currently working on modeling planetary atmospheres with the VSTAR code.
Before my research interests shifted to the nearby Universe, I focused on the intraday variability of compact
extragalactic radio
sources at cm wavelengths.
We established that this effect arrises due to the ionized component of Interstellar Medium of our Galaxy, in a
similar way as 'twinkling' of stars occurs due to turbulence in the Earth's atmosphere.
Research Interests
- exoplanets
- atmosperic conditions on exoplanetary systems
- planetary moons
- the physics of compact radio sources
- IDV phenomenon
- gravitational lensing
- active galactic nuclei (AGNs)
- characteristics of interstellar medium
- radio interferometry and VLBI
- cosmology
