I am currently working as senior postdoctoral research fellow in the School of Physics at the University of Melbourne. I am setting up a low-temperature, high-bandwidth, optical spectroscopy laboratory, based around a CF-450 cryogen-free dilution refrigerator. I am working in the Micro-Analytical Research Centre (MARC). My profile is here.

From 2006-2010 I was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Quantum Computer Technology, located at The University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia and recently became a user of the Molecular Foundry in Berkeley, USA. I finished my PhD in Applied Physics at the Delft University of Technology (2005) and my MSc in Applied Physics at the University of Groningen (2001), both located in The Netherlands. During my PhD studies I visited several times (in 2002 and 2003) the NTT Basic Research Laboratories in Japan to collaborate with the Quantum Solid-State Physics research group. Before that, in 2001, I undertook a half-year traineeship in the Tarucha-lab, based at the University of Tokyo.
