Counting Capacitors

I'm afraid our activities today don't make for very interesting reading. This morning we rewarded ourselves with the first sleep-in since we arrived and after a tasty Sunday lunch we headed out to the AASTINO and decided to tackle an easy task. Jon was suffering from a sudden and unexpected bout of altitude sickness...which surprisingly has the same symptoms as a hangover...strange...

Our easy task was making an inventory...John wants to know what we have stashed in the AASTINO, so just before he left he came up with the great idea that we make a list of everything...then he ran away. The day was filled with counting capacitors, cables, tools and various electronics components and making labels for everything.

I don't know if it is the altitude or what but Jon and I seem to find everything really funny here. We'll be working happily away and one of us will say something that will have us in stitches for the next 5 minutes. This happens a few times an hour. I'm sure whatever we're laughing at no one else would find remotely funny - i.e. we'll laugh about the flags flapping in the wind, the colour of the anti-static wristbands...I also think some of John's excitement about odd things has rubbed off on us - you should see the joy in the AASTINO when we've made something that works...not a "yeah that's good"...more like a "that's amazing, how did you create such a masterpiece, a work of pure genius" - I think this was my response to the coolant hose/ PVC pipe/ fan/ heatsink/ wood and gaffa tape web cam heater.
