PHYS1121 Physics 1A and PHYS1221 Physics 1B


Introduction

Physics 1A and Physics 1B are 6UC 'companion' courses giving an in-depth treatment of mechanics, thermal physics, waves, electricity and magnetism, optics and matter. The courses each comprise formal class time totalling 6 hours per week: 3 x 1 hour lectures, 1 x 1 hour problem solving class, 1 x 2 hour laboratory period.

If you fail Physics 1A or Physics 1B?

Physics 1A and Physics 1B are also offered in Session 2 and Summer Session respectively. If you fail in Physics IA (in Session 1) or Physics IB (in Session 2) you may be permitted to enrol again (at the discretion of the First Year Unit) to re-take these courses.
