UNSW Scholarships

The University of New South Wales offers many scholarships for undergraduate, postgraduate, local and international students. Scholarships are available to students studying in all Faculties. The UNSW Scholarships website offers the most up-to-date and comprehensive information.

PhD Scholarships

If you have an honours degree from an Australian university or equivalent and wish to pursue a PhD in Astronomy at UNSW, you can apply for a number of scholarships. Full details are available from the University Graduate Research School.

From time to time, individual reseach groups offer scholarships funded by grants.

Astronomy related Prizes and Grants

  • The Bok Prize for the best third or fourth year student essay or project.
  • The Page Medal for excellence in amateur astronomy.
  • The Ellery Lectureship for outstanding contributions in astronomy or related fields.
  • The David Allen Prize for a published article which portrays an astronomical theme in an exciting and educative way.
  • The Charlene Heisler Prize for an astronomical essay competition by an Australian undergraduate.
