Welcome to the UNSW Mopra web pages! Under a joint agreement with the
Australia Telescope National Facility
the Mopra millimetre-wave telescope is annually operated for about eight weeks of the Winter
months by the Department of
Astrophysics at the University of
New South Wales. The Mopra telescope is a 22-m radio and mm-wave antenna nestling in the
foothills of the Warrumbungle National Park
and 30 km from the township of Coonabarabran. It is currently the largest single-dish mm-wave
telescope in the southern hemisphere.
