The Group Workshop Feedback Forms were collected and a summary of the results follows:-

PREPARATION FOR WORKSHOP:-

  • Thoroughness of Research-reading list prepared. Most people judged this as substantial. One person refrained from commenting until he looked more closely at the reading list and another person appreciated the pre-reading material. The web site with active links also received positive feedback.
  • Careful preparation of necessary technology. Most people judged this aspect as good. One person would have preferred powerpoint whilst someone commented on the unforeseen problem of the chat site crashing.
  • Consideration of the colleagues' interests, needs and knowledge in relation to the topic. On the whole the feedback was good. A couple of people felt this area could have been better addressed and one person was unnerved by the "clock watching".
  • Useful preparation of resources for the group. Mostly good and great. One person thought it merely ok whilst another missed the reading because she left class early the day before and would have liked a pdf copy sent by email.

PRESENTATION

  • Structure of workshop. Most people found it was fine but some commented on clearer objectives at the beginning and a summary at the end would have benefited the presentation. One person found 4 hours too much whilst one other saw it as a little fragmented.
  • Presentation of more than one perspective on the topic. Most people found this aspect was well covered. There was one comment suggesting more time could have been spent on the details of the various perspectives.
  • Interactivity between participants and facilitators. One person commented that it was too "teacher-centred" whilst another felt that the end section didn't have enough interactivity. Otherwise people found it adequate in this respect.
  • Varied modes of delivery used to support participants varying learning styles. The variety of delivery was appreciated by all the participants.
  • Stimulating and challenging. Everyone responded favourably to this aspect of the talk.
  • Practical outcome-useful for participants. Most agreed it was useful. One person reserved comment as he wasn't sure yet.

OTHER COMMENTS ON ASPECTS OF THE WORKSHOP THAT FACILITATED AND HINDERED YOUR LEARNING

  • One person thought more questions were raised than answered whilst someone else thought it an improvement on the input sessions. Otherwise there was mainly brief positive comments.

Than you to all who participated and helped make this workshop an interesting and hopefully fruitful exercise.
