The 2002 Staff Development Award was presented to Professor John Storey, Head of School of Physics. This award was introduced by the UNSW Staff Development Unit to recognise an individual or a group’s contribution to staff development at the University. The criteria for the award are: demonstrated commitment to the development of skills, competencies and careers of academic and general staff within the UNSW community; providing opportunities for staff development through a range of innovative activities; and contribution to the enhancement of lifelong learning of staff in the context of the organisational goals of the University. John Storey is the first individual at UNSW to be presented with the award.
