The clustering of galaxies encodes information about the formation of cosmic structure and the cosmological parameters. In this talk I'll give a basic introduction to the latest theories of galaxy clustering. I'll then demonstrate how measurements of the small-scale clustering of a large sample of Luminous Red Galaxies describes how these galaxies populate the network of underlying dark matter haloes.
